In Nicole's closet: Winter Kate

Yesterday, September 29, Nicole Richie was seen heading to the set of "The View".

Miss Richie paired the "Seville" silk chiffon blouse with the "Tilda" skirt, both from her Winter Kate fall 2010 collection.
You can purchase the blouse here for $178/
The skirt is available here for $198

Nicole on the streets of Manhattan

Nicole Richie was fotographed on the streets of Manhattan in NYC,on September 29.
The designer wore her Winter Kate "Saxon" blue velvet shorts with black tights, House of Harlow 1960 pumps, a striped shirt under a Winter Kate "Jemma" vintage silk jacket, a Chanel lunch-box style bag, Chanel sunglasses and a House of Harlow 1960 tribal wrap ring in black and white.
She topped off her look with a leopard print hat.
I like it, but I'm not feeling it with the whole outfit.

Even when I’m dressing more professional for a meeting or such, I like to spice it up a bit with fun pattern and color mixes.  Add a funky jewelry piece for additional sparkle!

I can’t believe it was just mid 90’s last week and this week I’m layering… yep – it’s been 60’s in Cincinnati the last few days.  Crazy!  I like Fall, but the seasons just change too quickly here.  I need some time to adjust and to wear my nice Fall clothing!

House of Harlow 1960 on "90210"

AnnaLynne McCord, aka Naomi Clark, wore another Nicole Richie design on the set of "90210".
She wore the House of Harlow 1960 gold necklace with black resin on the third episode of season three called "2021 vision".
AnnaLynne's character also wore the aztec bangle with orange leather.
The "90210" costume designer must really like Nicole's lines because Ivy Sullivan, Gillian Zinser's character was recently spotted in the Winter Kate "Eden" jacket.

Nicole Richie launches her new book

After dealing with weather issues Nicole Richie kept her promise to her fans and arrived at Borders Books & Music, Columbus Circle, in New York City to launch her second novel, Priceless, on September 28.
The author was dressed in a Winter Kate "Ebony" silk velvet jacket and JET by John Eshaya antique wash skinny jeans.
She accessorized with a pair of Christian Louboutin Lipspikes boots, a hat and a Alexander McQueen skull scarf.

kimono inspired

Red silk tunic: Banana Republic.  Jeans: Anne Taylor LOFT.

Inspiration: beautiful colors and fabrics…!

Okay, so my outfit is really a far cry from these authentic kimonos, but the red silk tunic did feel somehow reminiscent of them.  This tunic also had a lovely and intricate pattern / weave to the neckline which I fell in love with.  Classic, easy, bright.  Works for me!  Add dark wash jeans and I’m ready for weekend running or a casual Friday in the office.

Webbed Snakeskin Shoes!

Ruffle Dress: WD NY.  Cropped Sweater: Old Navy.  Shoes: MIA girl.  Belt: Love Couture.  Bracelets: Charming Charlie.

DSCF5230 DSCF5225

I continue my “detail love” as normal.  At first glance this look may be just a dress and a sweater, but at second glance you hopefully notice the colorful blue, silver, and green bracelets, the contrast of the gray belt against the black ruffles, and the snakeskin “web” detailing of the shoes.

I adore these shoes.  I think they’re really fun for work because the heel is not too high / skinny, yet they have such fun detail and uniqueness to them.

As luck would have it, I got caught in the rain for a short while - thus, my shoes were caught in the rain - but thankfully they remained unharmed and will live to be worn another day (many days!).

Stephanie Pratt wearing House of Harlow 1960

A little leopard

Dress: Tahari.  Necklace: Charming Charlie.  Shoes: Steve Madden.  Belt: Macys.  Bag: Betsy Johnson.

I love this dress, but don’t wear it that often because it’s just a bit more dressy than what everyday wear calls for.  Actually, the last time I wore it was to a work awards ceremony last January!  Well, today wasn’t anything special, but I decided to pull out the dress anyway.  I figured I could always put on a little cardigan if I needed to “casual” things up a bit.

2 things I did a bit differently this time was to add a pop of color with a fun bold necklace (even though this top has a tie) and to add waist definition with a thick belt.  The flower on the belt is really supposed to go in the front, but it just looked funny and was distracting, so I simply turned it to the back!

Nicole Richie juggles family, fashion and new novel

Nicole Richie chatted to USA Today about her new novel, fashion, Twitter and her literary role models. Here's the interview:
Q: Your new novel Priceless follows your best seller The Truth About Diamonds. But it's not a sequel, right?
A: No, it's not. I like to close one chapter and start fresh.

Q: What's your writing routine? Early in the morning? Late at night?
A: I wake up at 5:45 and the rest of the family gets up at 7, so I have an hour in the morning. And then I have time after 7 at night to write and calm down.

Q: Do you work with anyone?
A: No, I write all my own stories.

Q: What are you reading right now?
A: I wish I were reading something. Everyone tells me about a few books I should read, but I'm rereading Tuesdays with Morrie right now. It's one of my favorites, and it's comforting to read something I've already read.

Q: Who are your literary role models? Jackie Collins? Danielle Steel?
A: Danielle Steel has been a huge mentor of mine. I look up to her. I'm lucky just to have five minutes with her. She told me not to write a sequel. She told me writing takes time and I might not be in the same place in a few years.

Q: What's next? Another novel?
A: I'm waiting to be done with my book tour first and then I can get into another creative chapter.

Q: You're a Virgo. Is that how you can have so many balls in the air at once?
A: I'm very organized. I love a good list. It's the nerd side of me. I like to be busy.

Q: Still a big Twitterer?
A: I am! It's a great way to connect with those who support my dreams and to tell them what's going on.

Q: Speaking of that, is there a sitcom in production? Will Diamonds be a TV series?
A: Not right now.

Q: Tell us about your Chuck episode which airs Oct. 4. You're back from last year! Still fighting?
A: We just wrapped that up. They had to up the ante this time around after last year's fight scene. It's longer and more intense this time. I even hurt my shoulder. It was an amazing experience.

Q: You have two fashion lines. Anything else coming down the pike?
A: We're expanding into eyewear and handbags in the spring of 2011.

Q: So, the world wants to know when you and your fiance, singer Joel Madden, are going to get married.
A: They'll just have to wait and find out.

Q: How are the kids, daughter Harlow and son Sparrow?
A: They're great. Wonderful.

Q: You've admitted you were given too much as a young child. Are you trying not to repeat that with your own children?
A: My parents were great and they gave me their heart and soul. I have to look up to them and hope to do the same, to be the best of me.

Q: Have you been in contact with your old pal and colleague, Paris Hilton?
A: I don't speak about her.
